Storyland Sessions

Fancy trying something a bit different the next time you visit the Cairngorms? Look no further than the Storyland Sessions, run by local musician Hamish Napier and writer Merryn Glover. Their events take you on a journey, celebrating highland culture and community and allow you to immerse yourself in an evening of music, story-telling, poetry from locals and visitors alike.

Each month, they host two Open Mic events which are held in the Ptarmigan Dome at Loch Insh Watersports Centre near Kincraig on the second Tuesday of the month.

The evenings begin with performances from their special guest before the floor is opened to members of the audience who would like to take part for their five minutes of fame! Of course, you don’t have to take part if you’d rather sit back and soak up the atmosphere!

There is a refreshment break halfway through for you to enjoy some nibbles from the team at Loch Insh and to give you the opportunity to mingle with some like-minded folk.

The next two upcoming events are 11th April and 9th May.

Be sure to book online in advance to avoid disappointment!

Afterwards, why not treat yourselves to a meal at the Boathouse Restaurant and make a night of it. You can find out more here.
